Job Description

Provide engineering contributions to solid-state laser system and component development
programs in the areas of concept development, detailed design, and hands-on laser system
build & characterization.

Required Skills

This position requires an experienced Engineer or Scientist with proven ability in the
development, design, and support of state-of-the-art Solid-State Lasers. The chosen
candidate will work closely with other engineers, Laser Technicians and Marketing to
develop new products, engineer product enhancements, and provide technical support for
fielded systems and Laser Manufacturing. Must be able to effectively present information
and respond to questions from managers, representatives, vendors, clients, and customers.
Routine use of common software applications such as Word, Excel, and Power Point to
produce proposals, reports and graphs is required.

Desired Skills

Experience in designing flashlamp-pumped and/or DPSS lasers including Nd:YAG,
Er:YAG, CTH:YAG, Alexandrite, Er:Glass and others. Experience with nonlinear optics,
optical modeling software, SolidWorks, LabVIEW, and FEM would be beneficial.
